I have several acres of land that I would like to divide and sell into parcels. How can I do that?

Thank you, Tim, for reaching out and asking how you divide your land and sell them in separate parcels. First, I suggest you check with your county regulations pertaining to subdividing. For example, in Lee Co, Alabama, I could divide a tract of land up to four times before I’m required to follow the “Subdivision” rules as defined by Lee Co. Second, engage with a good reputable surveyor to determine the best way to subdivide to maximize the property’s value. The surveyor will also need to record the new plats with the county where the property is located. Several other factors could be explored, but this will give you a good starting point.
